the end?

Booking Through Thursday asks:  Do you cheat and peek at the ends of books? (Come on, be honest.)

I do peek, but I don't consider it cheating.   Reading nowadays isn't for a test or a grade;  it isn't  a competition.    If I'm getting bored,  I look at the last chapter to see if anything catches my eye.   Sometimes it does,  then I read chapters backwards.  Odd, but that's me.

If I'm involved in the story, I won't look at the end --- don't like spoilers.  Sometimes I'm in a bind and have to read super-fast in order to mail a book off in time, then I combine  techniques.

How about you?  Do you look at the end to see if the story is worth it, or do you stick with a boring book?

I don't think it's cheating either. And I certainly don't stick with a boring book.

I only look at the back of the book if it is a good book. I can't help it, I'm impatient. If it is a boring book, I just stick it through (it's kind of a pride thing for me), which is why I have to pick good books in the first place.

Great question.

Oh I can't! Haha I don't think it's CHEATING but I just feel like I can't look ahead, only forward. It's the only thing in my life that I do linearly, though. ;O)

I don't quite get why it's not cheating - I mean, it's skipping to find out what happens in the end without reading through the book yet.

Here's my Cheating (Booking Through Thursday) post!

No, not cheating at all. I just want to know what happened and want to know if I would be disappointed with the ending.

I wouldn't call it cheating either. Especially if it's a boring book! See my Booking Through Thursday here

I always peek. But I don't ever skim read. I don't consider it cheating either.

I don't consider it cheating, but I hate knowing spoilers, because then I just think about what's going to happen and not what is currently happening in the story. I can understand why other people do it, but it would drive me crazy if I did.

I don't think I've looked at the end. As I usually read mysteries, it would spoil the story.
