Friday blog hop - December 17

Book Blogger Hop
This week's question: plot or characters?
Answer: a simple description of the plot makes me decide if I want to read the book in the first place. Characters help me decide if I want to continue. Example: if I'm reading a murder mystery and don't care enough about the person that was killed or the people left behind, I might say "eh" with a shrug and put the book down.

Follow Friday asks what did you study in college and did it lead to your 9 to 5 job?
I majored in psychology and got my master's in Deaf Ed. Yes, it led to my Many-year teaching career, especially the last ten years of specializing in transition assessments for IEPs. Now I'm recently retired and loving' sleeping past 9!

Stopping by to say Hi! Great answer. In the end I choose plot, but went back and forth about twenty-seven times. By the end of the hop I might change my mind again… Stop by and say hi when you get a chance!

That's the best answer I've all day on the books - it's characters for me, but your answer definitely makes the most sense!

It's true. Blurbs rarely go out all describing the character development. They try to hook you with what will be the plot. But no amount of plotting can compensate for poor character development. I vote for characters being most important.

I'm totally with plot. :) The most solid answer to this question but it's still on someone's preference. Anyway, read my answer in Clandestine Sanctuary.

I'm an old follower. Have a great weekend.

I'm an old follower just stopping by!

I'm a both girl. I need both plot and characters to be good for me to love a book. :)

Have a great weekend!

Hello my dear,

I think that characters are very important. I love seeing what happen to them and I love to swoon over a few fictional boyfriends more then I should. ;)

I recently finished a Biological Degree. Now I am working on a degree in History, Humanities, and Religious studies. I think I might never stop, Yes, the Mad Scientist thinks that she will be a lifer student. LOL!

I'm also the creater of Morbid Romantica Challenge 2011 which I'm trying to get off the ground. It should be a very fun challenge. AND it wont seem like homework. *smirk*

Today was the start of a Hardcover giveaway for Beautiful Creatures and Beautiful Darkness @ Ridley's Giveaway

This might be the best Book Blogger Hop question I've seen to date.

So what's the answer? Plot! Hop over to my blog and let me tell you how a good plot rescued bad characters from bad book oblivion.
